Today is marked the annual celebration of the Martyrdom of St. Ralph Sherwin at Tyburn on 1st December 1581 – together with St. Edmund Campion and St Alexander Briant. St. Ralph Sherwin was to be the first of 44 alumni of the Venerable English College to suffer martyrdom between 1581 and 1679, all of whom are commemorated today.
These priests – simply for celebrating Holy Mass and the other sacraments in England and for their Faith and the Successor of St. Peter.
